Founded in 1996, the Neon Museum shown here February 4, 2015 with old signs is dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas, Nevada signs for educational, historic and cultural enrichment. The Neon Museum campus includes the outdoor exhibition space known as the Neon Boneyard, a visitors center housed inside the former La Concha Motel lobby and the Neon Boneyard North Gallery. Neon signs, introduced in Las Vegas in 1929 were popular up until the 1980's, but as LED and LCD screens began taking over the Las Vegas Strip, many of the old signs were removed.
